Are you ready to finally get behind the sewing machine?!? This week it's about sewing curves... have you sewn curves before? what method do you use - pins or no pins? Any tips or tricks of your own to share?

Help @Allison, Im trying to catch up today ... but I'm also using the LPQ pattern and i can't find the right templates for this blocks ...
I'm also using the Love Patchwork & Quilting pattern. I'm a bit behind, so just started cutting this morning. The magazine also directs to cut fabrics B, C, D, E at 3-1/2" , but the small DP curve they provide is significantly larger, with the two straight edges at 5-1/2"
This also means that the (10) small DP arcs cut from my background = fabric are also too large. (Am also wondering where (10) of these go? I don't think the pattern templates are correct?)
1. advise what length the straight edges of the small DP curve should be =
(are they supposed to be 3"?)
2. What is the correct scale (and shape) for the arcs? Love Patchwork & Quilting does not have pattern or template corrections for this on their site. See p. 9 templates; https://media.immediate.co.uk/volatile/sites/32/2019/08/Free-bird-quilt-pattern-Love-Patchwork-Quilting-issue-81-86070f4.pdf
I didn’t trim it after I sewed the DP pieces together With the background pieces.
My final assembled block is a little small. I think I was trying to get the white on the L background pieces to barely peek out and my seems are probably a bit over 1/4" my block measures about 12 1/4" will I be able to adjust for it?
