Hi Kathrin, danke für Deine Nachricht. Also bei amerikanischen Schnittmustern sind die Schablonen immer schon inklusiv der Nahtzugabe (anders als bei manchen deutschen Schnittmustern). Wenn Du also die Blöcke genau nach meinen Papierschablonen ausgeschnitten hast, ist erstmal alles richtig! ABER: Das Trimmen kommt bei mir erst zum Schluß, NACH dem zusammennähen der beiden Drunkardspath-Teile. Ich habe den "L"-Teil bewußt größer gestaltet, damit man ihn leichter zusammengenäht bekommt, und das Übermaß dann schön rechtwinkelig trimmen kann. Nach dem Trimmen soll das "L"-Teil dann noch 1/4" haben (siehe Foto). Wenn die "L"-Teile nun geringfügig unterschiedliche Maße haben, ist das zwar ein kleiner Schönheitsfehler, aber natürlich kein Grund, alles noch mal neu zu schneiden, das passt schon irgendwie! yes, you can cut the arcs apart, but it is important to make sure that you leave the seam allowance on them.

@Cathy Calloway did you check the 1" control box when you printed it? Also, did you print from your regular computer, and not some other device? If it is not printed from a regular computer, and the printer settings changed to print to "actual size", then the computer automatically resizes it. Also, are you using a 1/4" foot? that can make a difference too. You might be able to fudge it by trimming the L-unit a bit larger.

Ok, I think I am following you now... I thought you were talking about the XXL blocks - sorry🙈 If you are only off 1/4" for the wing unit, then I think you should be able to fudge it.

Hi Debra, how did you print your pattern? Did you print from your computer or another device? If you do not select "print to actual size" then the computer will automatically scale it down. (I am using A4 format, so if you use Letter size, it's crucial to change it) Also, did you check your 1" control square? If the block only finishes at 12 1/4", then something is really off since it is supposed to be larger to allow for trimming. Hi Kathrin, dann würde ich empfehlen zunächst nur den Hintergrundstoff zu zuschneiden. Schaue auch bitte noch erst die Pattern Correction-Notizen im Forum für den Hintergrundstoff an. Außerdem kannst Du auch schon die Drunkard's Path Blöcke für den Flügel schneiden (fangen wir morgen an). 😉 Ansonsten ist es natürlich vollkommen in Ordnung wenn Du wie normal arbeitest, also von Block zu Block. Normalerweise mache ich das auch immer so, aber für das QAL habe ich es so geplant, weil sehr viele Leute das offenbar so machen... Für den Hauptstoff empfehle ich jedoch, die Schablonen der 2 XXL-Drunkard’s Path Blöcke, den Kopf und die Innen-Curve-Unit vom New York Beauty Block, sowie die 3 x 3 inch Quadrate vorab auf den Stoff zu legen, um sicherzustellen, dass auch alles auf den halben Meter passt. No problem, Jane. You should still be able to use the 14" background fabric strip, but this is for the L-units and not the curve units. The XXL L-unit should be included. The 14 1/2" just allows you to more economically position the units. Hope this helps
